What are silk moths?

Silk moths (family Saturniidae) include some of the largest moths in the world, like the Atlas moth (Attacus atlas), and the long-tailed moon moths of the genera Actias and Argema. Many carry striking eyespots or translucent window spots on their wings.

Specimens, cocoons and live stages

Besides pinned and papered specimens, you'll find empty cocoons here and, from time to time, live cocoons or caterpillars for breeding (shipped within the EU only). Large moths need wide panels, so have a look at our pinning boards in the Large and hawkmoth sizes.
